For 2001, Trendmasters is aiming the Cardcaptors series
of action figures, dolls, and toys at the same demographic as the
television show on the Kids WB: girls ages 4 to 8. However, they
are also aware of the adult collector segment of their market, and
while they aren't producing anything specifically targeted at
collectors in 2001, are keeping that in mind for the future.
In addition to action figures scaled to fit in playsets,
Trendmasters is producing a series of mini-collectibles
which will be sold in 3-packs.
Kero leads the bean bag toy line, with versions in
several sizes. (The medium and large Kero will have sound.) for
2001, Trendmasters is introducing crocheted Kero toys in
three sizes.
In the doll format, there are three series planned:
- Deluxe Sakura dolls - feature sound and lights on
their bases/stands, and come with an additional outfit for the
doll. (Retail will be about $19.99 USD.)
- Magic Battle Dolls - feature other characters in
addition to Sakura. (Retail will be about $9.99 USD.)
- Interactive Sakura - she will interact with certain
items and will be able to react to a user's touch. (Retail
will be about $49.99 USD.)
Last but not least, there will be a full-sized Magic Battle
Wand which will retail for around $29.99 USD - it will feature
sounds and lights. (There will also be keychains and girls' dress
up costume sets.)
As with all pictures from Toy Fair, these images are of
prototypes, so certain things may change on these figures.
